About Zygaena graslini Lederer, 1855

Zygaena graslini is a moth species in the Zygaenidae family, first described by Lederer in 1855. It is distributed across Syria, Mesopotamia, Asia Minor, Israel, and Lebanon. On the forewings of Zygaena graslini, the six spots are fused together in pairs, forming three distinct red areas: a basal red area, a central red area, and a marginal red area. These red areas are separated from one another by black bands. The form confluens Oberth., which is a synonym of Zygaena graslini and found in Syria, has additional fusion: its basal and central red areas are also confluent, leaving the entire section of the wing from the base to past the middle colored red.
