Zaprionus indianus, commonly known as the African fig fly, is a species of vinegar fly belonging to the family Drosophilidae. This species is now widely distributed across tropical regions of the world, as well as in southern Europe and the United States. Even though its holotype was first described from India, the species is thought to have originally originated from central Africa.
