About Zanthoxylum rhoifolium Lam.

Zanthoxylum rhoifolium Lam. is a deciduous tree that grows up to 12 meters tall. This species produces spherical black capsules that measure around half a centimeter in both length and width, and these capsules contain small seeds with hard coats. The tree is not shade tolerant, so it typically grows in open areas located in and around forests. It is classified as a medicinal plant. Its bark is used to treat toothache and earache, and it is also used as an anti-inflammatory and to treat malaria. Some parts of this plant additionally have both antibacterial and fungicidal activity.
