The red-billed malkoha, with the scientific name Zanclostomus javanicus, is a cuckoo species that belongs to the family Cuculidae. It can be found in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Thailand. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical dry forests. The genus Zanclostomus was introduced in 1837 by English naturalist William Swainson specifically to house the red-billed malkoha. The genus name combines two Ancient Greek terms: zanklon, which means "sickle" or "reaping hook", and stoma, which means "mouth".
