Zabrus (Pelor) spinipes, the species currently classified as Zabrus spinipes (Fabricius, 1798), grows to a length of 17 to 21 millimeters (0.67 to 0.83 inches). It has a large, nearly oval head. Its elytra are elongated, marked with light longitudinal striae. The entire body is a bright black color. This species is distributed across Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Moldova, Poland, North Macedonia, Slovakia, Ukraine, the southern region of Russia (including the Near East), and all former Yugoslav states except Croatia, Slovenia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
