About Yucca angustissima Engelm. ex Trel.
Yucca angustissima Engelm. ex Trel., commonly called narrowleaf yucca, is a species of plant in the Agavaceae family. It is native to Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah, and is cultivated in other locations as an ornamental plant. This is a low-lying species that grows in colonies of basal rosettes, with colonies reaching up to 3 meters (10 feet) in diameter. Its leaves are long and thin, growing up to 150 cm in length and rarely exceeding 2 cm in width. Its flowers range in color from white to cream or greenish-white, are pendant, and grow in racemes on stalks that reach up to 2 meters (7 feet) tall. The fruit it produces is a dry capsule that contains black seeds. Yucca angustissima is relatively abundant overall. While it faces local threats, its total population appears to be stable.
