Yoyetta timothyi, scientifically described by Emery, Emery & Popple in 2019, has a forewing length of 24–34 mm and a total body length of 24–26 mm. This species is distributed in eastern Australia, ranging from Kroombit Tops in Central Queensland south to Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory and Moruya in New South Wales. It is associated with three main habitat types: wet sclerophyll forest, open forest containing heath, and temperate woodland.
