Xyris smalliana Nash, commonly called Small's yelloweyed grass, is a North American flowering plant species belonging to the yellow-eyed-grass family. This species grows on the coastal plain of the eastern and southern United States, ranging from Maine to Texas. It can also be found in Cuba, Central America, and the state of Tabasco in southern Mexico. Xyris smalliana is a perennial herb. Its stem can reach up to 60 cm (2 feet) in height, and it bears long, narrow leaves that grow up to 20 cm (8 inches) long.
