About Xyridacma ustaria (Walker)

Xyridacma ustaria (Walker) is a moth species that belongs to the family Geometridae. Francis Walker first described this species in 1863, working from specimens collected in Auckland. This moth is endemic to New Zealand. Specimens of X. ustaria have been recorded on Codfish Island in May; larvae of the species have been documented feeding on Pittosporum tenuifolium. The species has also been observed at Paroa in February, and it has been found in Canterbury as well.
