Xylopia aromatica (Lam.) Mart. is a species of flowering plant belonging to the Annonaceae family. It is a tree native to tropical Americas. Its native range extends from Honduras south to Paraguay and southern Brazil, and it is also found in Cuba. This plant grows in Cerrado grasslands, and it occurs especially in the eastern Brazilian states of Goiás and Minas Gerais.
