About Xerocomellus pruinatus (Fr.) Šutara

Xerocomellus pruinatus, commonly called the matte bolete, was previously known under the scientific names Boletus pruinatus and Xerocomus pruinatus. This species is a mushroom belonging to the family Boletaceae, and it is native to Europe. In 2008, Czech mycologist Josef Šutara transferred this species to the newly described genus Xerocomellus, giving it its current accepted scientific name.
