About Xerochrysum subundulatum (Sch.Bip.) R.J.Bayer

Xerochrysum subundulatum, commonly known as the alpine everlasting or orange everlasting, is a flowering plant in the Asteraceae family. It is native to Australia, where it grows in the states of Victoria, New South Wales, and Tasmania. This species is an ascending or erect annual plant. It typically reaches around 60 centimeters in height, and is usually simple-stemmed or has only a few branches. The bracts of its inflorescence are papery and golden-yellow in color. It has thin, fleshy roots with a mean maximum diameter of 2 millimeters. Seedlings of this species can tolerate competition from existing adult plants. It uses both seed germination and sprouting as post-fire regeneration strategies.
