About Wittia sororcula (Hufnagel, 1767)

Technical description and variation: The wingspan of Wittia sororcula ranges from 27–30 millimetres (1.1–1.2 in). The costa of the forewing is strongly convex, which makes the apical portion of the forewing considerably broader than that of forms in the luterella group. The head, thorax, end of the abdomen, and forewings are bright golden yellow. The male hindwing is only slightly paler than the forewings; in females, both wings are a slightly paler orange yellow. Unlike W. lutarella, the costal area of the hindwing is never black, on either the upper or underside.
