About Wilsonia humilis R.Br.

Silky wilsonia, scientifically named Wilsonia humilis R.Br., is a low-growing mat-forming species that reaches 10 cm in height. The entire plant is covered in short, white hairs that give it a silvery look. Its small, crowded leaves are concave, overlapping, and measure 1.5 to 4 mm long by 2 to 3 mm wide. In its native range, white flowers bloom between September and December. After flowering, the plant produces capsular fruits that are 3 mm long. This species is native to Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria, and Tasmania. While it has been recorded in New South Wales, this record is considered doubtful. In Tasmania, the species is rare, and it occurs near Pitwater, Dunalley, and Cape Portland.
