Wikstroemia nutans Champ. ex Benth. is a shrub that reaches 1 to 2 meters in height. Its branches are reddish or grayish-brown, and its drupes are dark red. This species flowers from spring through early summer, and produces fruit from summer through autumn. It commonly grows in forests, shrubby slopes, valleys, and roadsides at altitudes between 300 and 1500 meters.
