About Weldenia candida Schult.f.

Weldenia candida Schult.f. is a flowering plant species native to Mexico and Guatemala. This herbaceous perennial plant grows broad green, strap-shaped leaves arranged in a rosette. It produces bright white three-petalled flowers at its center, which bloom over a long period during late spring and summer. This species is hardy to temperatures as low as −5 °C (23 °F). When grown in temperate zones, it prefers mild, sheltered locations with full sun, and well-drained neutral or acid soil. It requires dry conditions through the winter, so it is best grown in an alpine house or similar location that can provide winter protection. The Latin specific epithet candida translates to "shading white".
