Weissia controversa Hedw., commonly called the green-tufted stubble-moss, is a species of moss belonging to the Pottiaceae family. It is widely distributed across every continent except Antarctica. This species is hermaphroditic. Individual plants of this species typically grow to less than 1 centimeter in height, and its spores measure between 14 and 20 micrometers.
