Vitacea scepsiformis, commonly known as the lesser grape root borer moth, is a moth species belonging to the family Sesiidae. This moth is found in North America, where its range extends from New York in the north southward to Florida, and westward to Texas, Kansas, and Missouri. The adult wingspan of Vitacea scepsiformis measures approximately 23 mm. Adult moths are active and in flight from July through October. The larvae of this species feed inside the roots of plants in the Vitis genus.
