About Viscum rotundifolium L.fil.

Viscum rotundifolium, commonly known as red-berry mistletoe, is a variable, wide-ranging monoecious mistletoe native to southern Africa. This hardy, evergreen hemiparasite can use a wide variety of host plants, including other mistletoes. It grows at elevations ranging from near sea level up to 1,950 meters. Its fleshy, leathery leaves can be dark or pale green, and vary in shape, though they are usually broadly ovate to elliptic. Its small creamy-green flowers are not conspicuous, but its ripe fruit are a bright shiny orange-red color. This species is similar to Viscum schaeferi Engl. & K.Krause and Viscum pauciflorum L.f., and it can be confused with these two species.
