About Viola septemloba Leconte

Viola septemloba, commonly known as the southern coastal violet, is a species of flowering plant in the Violaceae family. It is native to the Atlantic Plain of the southeastern United States. This perennial plant grows to a height of 30 cm (12 in), and its flowers can be violet, blue, or white. V. septemloba occurs most often in pine woods, oak woodlands, and savannahs. In the Florida Panhandle, it serves as an indicator species for silty longleaf woodlands.
