About Viburnum odoratissimum Ker Gawl.
Viburnum odoratissimum Ker Gawl. grows up to 9 meters high, and bears glossy elliptical leaves that reach up to 20 cm long. In spring, it produces pyramid-shaped clusters of fragrant white flowers. After flowering, it develops red berries that turn black as they age. The species is native to China, Korea, Taiwan, Japan, the Himalayan region of India, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Viburnum odoratissimum var. awabuki is native to Jeju Island in Korea, Taiwan, and Japan. For cultivation, this species prefers warm, frost-free climates.
