About Veronica prostrata L.

Veronica prostrata, commonly known as prostrate speedwell or rock speedwell, is a flowering plant species belonging to the family Plantaginaceae. It is native to Europe. This is a temperate, semi-evergreen prostrate perennial that reaches 10–15 cm (4–6 in) in height. It forms a dense mat of foliage, which makes it suitable for use as groundcover or for planting in alpine gardens. In summer, it produces blue flowers that grow in terminal racemes positioned above paired leaves. Both the species itself and its cultivar 'Spode Blue' have received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
