About Verbena tenera Spreng.

Verbena tenera, commonly called South American mock vervain, is a flowering plant species belonging to the verbena family. It is native to Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay. It has been introduced to other regions outside its native range, where it grows as a roadside weed. This plant can be an annual or perennial herb that produces one or more stems. Stems range from decumbent to erect in growth form, and their texture can vary from hairy to completely hairless. Its leaves are covered in rough hairs and are deeply divided into lobes. The inflorescence is a dense, head-shaped spike that holds many flowers, and it can reach up to 1.5 centimeters wide. Each flower's corolla grows up to 1.4 centimeters wide, and its color ranges from white to purple.
