About Verbena peruviana (L.) Britton

Verbena peruviana, also known by the synonym Glandularia peruviana and the common name Peruvian mock vervain, is a flowering plant species belonging to the family Verbenaceae. It is native to Bolivia, southern Brazil, northern Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay, and is not native to Peru despite its name. It has been introduced to scattered locations outside its native range, including the former Czechoslovakia, the US state of Illinois, and the Leeward Islands. Under its synonym Glandularia peruviana, the cultivar 'Balendpibi', which is sold under the trade name Endurascape Pink Bicolor, has received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
