About Vasula deltoidea (Lamarck, 1822)

This species, Vasula deltoidea (Lamarck, 1822), reaches a maximum shell length of 37 mm. Its shell is light brown or whitish, marked with dark chestnut bands; these bands can sometimes also appear on the inside of the outer lip. The columella of the shell is pink. Vasula deltoidea is a shallow-water species, and its shells are often heavily encrusted with calcareous algae. This species is known to occur along the Atlantic coast of Florida, as well as in Barbados, the Lesser Antilles, and Venezuela.
