About Valenciennea puellaris (Tomiyama, 1956)

Valenciennea puellaris, commonly called the Orange-spotted sleeper-goby, Orange-dashed goby, Maiden goby, or Diamond Watchman goby, is a species of goby. This species is native to the Indian Ocean and the western Pacific Ocean. It lives in lagoons and outer reefs, where it occurs on sandy substrates that contain larger pieces of rubble to burrow under. This goby can reach a maximum length of 20 centimetres (7.9 in) measured as standard length. It is a common fish kept in the aquarium hobby. Its main diet consists of zooplankton and dead fish or invertebrates.
