About Utricularia simulans Pilg.
Utricularia simulans Pilg., commonly known as the fringed bladderwort, is a small to medium-sized probably perennial carnivorous plant species belonging to the family Lentibulariaceae. This species is native to tropical Africa and the Americas. It grows as a terrestrial plant in damp sandy soils within open savannas, at altitudes ranging from near sea level up to 1,575 meters (5,167 feet). Utricularia simulans was originally described and published by Robert Knud Friedrich Pilger in 1914.
