About Utricularia minutissima Vahl

Utricularia minutissima Vahl is a small to very small terrestrial carnivorous plant in the carnivorous plant genus Utricularia. This species is native to Asia and Australia. In Asia, its recorded distribution includes Burma, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam. Within the Southeast Asian islands, it occurs on Borneo, New Guinea, and Sumatra. Martin Vahl originally described and published this species in 1804. It grows as a terrestrial plant in damp or wet open areas with muddy or sandy soils, at altitudes ranging from sea level up to 2,100 m (6,890 ft). Specimens of Utricularia minutissima in flower have been collected between July and December.
