Usta terpsichore, commonly known as the cavorting emperor, is a species of moth that belongs to the family Saturniidae. It can be found in Angola, Burkina Faso, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. The larvae of this moth feed on Commiphora caryaefolia, Sclerocarya afra, Melia azedarach, and Schinus molle. When fully grown, these larvae reach around 80 millimeters in length. Local people use the larvae as a food source. The larvae are rich in iron, copper, zinc, thiamine, and riboflavin. When compared with many other insect species, they are also relatively high in calcium and phosphorus.
