About Urticina grebelnyi Sanamyan & Sanamyan, 2006

Urticina grebelnyi, commonly called the painted anemone, has a cylindrical column approximately 15 centimeters in diameter. This column is covered in non-adhesive warts, and mottled with irregular patches of green, yellow, red, and white. The oral disk is more uniformly colored, appearing yellow-green or pale lilac. Large individuals of this species can have up to 200 tentacles. These tentacles are generally the same color as the oral disk, and often bear reddish-pink or brown bands, with blunt-ended tips.
