About Urticicola umbrosus (C.Pfeiffer, 1828)
This species, Urticicola umbrosus, has a shell that measures 5.5 mm to 7 mm in height and 10 mm to 13 mm in width. The shell is thin, fragile, and translucent. It has a turbinately globose shape and is closely wound. The spire is flat and conical, and the shell contains 5½ whorls. The periphery of the final whorl has a blunt ridge that disappears before reaching the aperture. The aperture is obliquely lunate. The umbilicus is very wide, measuring about half the width of the shell. This species occurs primarily in mountain forests of Austria, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and Slovenia.
