About Umbilicus oppositifolius Ledeb.
Umbilicus oppositifolius Ledeb., commonly called lamb's-tail and gold drop, is a succulent perennial flowering species. It belongs to the genus Umbilicus in the plant family Crassulaceae. This species is endemic to shady mountain regions of the Caucasus. It is most widely known and listed under its taxonomic synonym, Chiastophyllum oppositifolium. It is a hardy, prostrate evergreen that grows to 25 cm (10 in) tall, producing large fleshy leaves and racemes of small sulphur-yellow flowers. This plant has received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
