Typophorus nigritus (Fabricius, 1801) is a species of leaf beetle that belongs to the subfamily Eumolpinae. This species is distributed across North America, Central America, and South America. Of the two recognized subspecies of T. nigritus — T. nigritus nitidulus and T. nigritus viridicyaneus — both are known to be pests that affect sweet potatoes.
