Morphology: The fruiting bodies of Typhula erythropus (Pers.) Fr. reach 1.5 cm in height, and its spores measure 9–10 × 3–4 μm. Distribution and habitat: This species is found across North America, Europe, and Asia, occurring most frequently in Europe. It typically grows on the petioles, stems, and twigs of Alnus, Populus, Acer, Fagus, and Fraxinus species. It grows rarely on grass, Urtica, and Pteridium.
