Scientific name: Turdus maculirostris Berlepsch & Taczanowski, 1884

The Ecuadorian thrush measures 21.5 to 23 centimeters in length. Its upperparts are solid olive-brown, and are paler than the upperparts of the bare-eyed thrush. Its underparts are an even paler brown. The throat is off-white with brown streaking, while the lower belly is whitish. This species has a narrow yellow eye ring. Male and female Ecuadorian thrushes are similar in appearance, but young individuals have flecked upperparts and spotted underparts. This species has no recognized subspecies.
