The brown-headed thrush, with the scientific name Turdus chrysolaus (first described by Temminck in 1832), is sometimes also called the brown thrush. It is a bird species that belongs to the family Turdidae. This species breeds in Sakhalin, the Kuril Islands, and Japan, and migrates south to winter in the Ryukyu Islands, Taiwan, Hainan, and the northern Philippines. Its natural habitat is temperate forests.
