About Turdoides rubiginosa (Rüppell, 1845)

The rufous chatterer, a bird species currently classified under the scientific name Argya rubiginosa (previously Turdoides rubiginosa (Rüppell, 1845)), belongs to the family Leiothrichidae. It can be found in Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. Its natural habitats are dry savanna and subtropical or tropical dry shrubland. This species was originally classified in the genus Turdoides. After a comprehensive molecular phylogenetic study was published in 2018, it was moved to the resurrected genus Argya.
