About Turdoides gularis (Blyth, 1855)

The white-throated babbler, currently classified under the scientific name Argya gularis, is a bird species belonging to the family Leiothrichidae. It is endemic to Myanmar. This species was previously classified in the genus Turdoides, originally described as Turdoides gularis by Blyth in 1855. After a comprehensive molecular phylogenetic study was published in 2018, the species was moved to the resurrected genus Argya.
