About Turdoides earlei (Blyth, 1844)

The striated babbler is a bird species belonging to the family Leiothrichidae. It is found in southern Asia, across the range from Pakistan to Myanmar. It is omnivorous. This species was previously classified under the genus Turdoides, but after a comprehensive molecular phylogenetic study was published in 2018, it was moved to the resurrected genus Argya. A scientific name for this species under its former classification is Turdoides earlei (Blyth, 1844), and its current scientific name is Argya earlei.
