About Trosia misda Dyar, 1910
This species, Trosia misda Dyar, 1910, has a wingspan of approximately 34 millimetres (1.3 in). Its head, abdomen, and legs are reddish, while its tarsi are black with white spots. The collar and thorax are yellowish buff; the thorax also has red spots. Its forewings are greenish yellow, marked with a postmedial row of black spots. The hindwings are roseate, and the underside of the wings is dull roseate. The costa of the forewing matches the color of the rest of the wing. Trosia misda occurs in rainforests and cloud forests at altitudes between 300 and 1,700 meters (980 and 5,580 ft). Byrsonima coccolobifolia is the recorded host plant for this species. It has been observed in Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Brazil and Peru. Observations from various collections and citizen science initiatives indicate its range extends from South America to North America.
