The green-legged partridge, scientifically named Tropicoperdix chloropus, has several other common names: the scaly-breasted partridge and the green-legged hill-partridge. It is a bird species that belongs to the family Phasianidae. This species inhabits forest habitats across Indochina, and its range extends a small distance into southern Yunnan, China. The Vietnam partridge is most commonly classified as a subspecies of Tropicoperdix chloropus today.
