For Triumfetta rhomboidea Jacq., different sources report that the number of its stamens ranges between 8 and 15. Its fruit is round to slightly ovoid, measuring approximately 6 millimetres (0.2 inches) in diameter, and bears smooth spines that are about 2 millimetres (0.1 inches) long. The stems of this plant are covered in star-shaped, or stellate, hairs. Venkata Rao published a description of this species' embryology in 1952.
