About Tritonicula myrakeenae (Bertsch & Osuna, 1986)

Tritonicula myrakeenae is a species of dendronotid nudibranch, a marine gastropod mollusc that belongs to the family Tritoniidae. In 2020, an integrative taxonomic study of the family Tritoniidae led to multiple species originally classified in the genus Tritonia being moved to the new separate genus Tritonicula. This species has been reported along the Pacific coast of North and Central America, ranging from California, USA and Baja California, Mexico down to Costa Rica. Its type locality is located at the southeast end of Isla Cedros, Baja California, Mexico: it is a rocky reef west of the lighthouse in Bahía Sudeste, at coordinates 28°02′30″N 115°12′00″W.
