Triprion petasatus, first described by Cope in 1865, is a species of frog that goes by several common names: Yucatán shovel-headed tree frog, Yucatán casque-headed tree frog, and Yucatán casquehead tree frog. It is a member of the frog family Hylidae, and occurs naturally in Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico. Its natural habitats include subtropical or tropical dry forests, moist savanna, freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marshes, rural gardens, heavily degraded former forests, aquaculture ponds, and canals and ditches.
