About Triphysaria floribunda (Benth.) T.I.Chuang & Heckard
Triphysaria floribunda is an annual herb with a yellow-brown stem that ranges from hairy to hairless, growing up to around 30 centimeters in maximum height. Like many species in its botanical family, it is a facultative root parasite of other plants. It attaches to host plant roots via haustoria to draw nutrients. Its greenish leaves reach up to 4 centimeters long and are split into several narrow, pointed lobes. The inflorescence is a spike of flowers that measures a few centimeters in length. Each individual flower has a narrow greenish upper lip and a wide lower lip, which is divided into yellowish or white pouches.
