About Trionyx triunguis (Forskål, 1775)
Trionyx triunguis (Forskål, 1775) is a very large species of softshell turtle. Most individuals measure between 85 and 94 cm in length and weigh around 40 kg, while there is an unconfirmed report of a maximum size of 120 cm. This species is omnivorous; its diet includes small fish, frogs, tadpoles, and crustaceans, as well as floating palm seeds, fallen leaves, and some types of aquatic vegetation.
