About Trioceros ellioti (Günther, 1895)

Trioceros ellioti, commonly known by the common names Elliot's chameleon, Elliot's groove-throated chameleon, and the montane side-striped chameleon, is a species of lizard belonging to the family Chamaeleonidae. This species is native to Africa. Trioceros ellioti is distributed across Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. Its preferred natural habitats are forest, savanna, shrubland, and grassland, occurring at altitudes ranging from 1,200 to 1,800 meters (3,900 to 5,900 feet). It has also been observed in human-disturbed areas, including plantations, gardens, and open fields. The reproductive mode of Trioceros ellioti has been recorded as both viviparous and ovoviviparous.
