About Trifolium virginicum Small

Trifolium virginicum, commonly known as Kate's Mountain clover, is a flowering plant species belonging to the legume family Fabaceae. It is native to West Virginia and Virginia in the United States, where it grows primarily on Piedmont mafic barrens. Kate's Mountain is this species' type locality. Trifolium virginicum serves as the symbol of the West Virginia Native Plant Society. This species can also be found in Maryland and Pennsylvania. According to NatureServe, it is classified as imperiled in Maryland and critically imperiled in Pennsylvania.
