About Tridactyle bicaudata (Lindl.) Schltr.
Tridactyle bicaudata is a species of flowering plant belonging to the Orchidaceae family. This orchid is distributed across most of Africa, ranging from Cape Province to Kenya and Ghana. It grows in a very wide variety of habitats, which makes it highly suitable for cultivation. It has a monopodial growth habit, and typically grows in clumps on rocks or on low-lying tree branches. Its flowers are canary yellow, 2 cm wide, and have a lip divided into three lobes. The two outermost lobes are fimbriated. An inflorescence usually bears 8 to 16 flowers arranged in two rows along the single inflorescence. Plants can produce multiple racemes, which can result in a total flower count of up to thousands. One subspecies is recognized for this species: Tridactyle bicaudata subsp. rupestris.
