About Trichophorum alpinum (L.) Pers.
Trichophorum alpinum, commonly known as alpine bulrush or cotton deergrass, is a flowering plant species that belongs to the sedge family. It has a circumboreal distribution across the northern latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere, and can be found in Europe, Asia, and northern North America. This sedge grows stems reaching up to 40 centimeters (16 inches) tall from a short rhizome. Its leaves are no longer than one centimeter. Its flowers feature cottony white bristles that may extend 2 centimeters (0.79 inches) past the spikelet. This species grows in bogs and calcareous mountain meadows.
